Bartłomiej Gielniewski PhD
I have completed my MSc degree in Biotechnology in the Faculty of Biotechnology and Enviromental Sciences at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. My Master thesis was entitled Extraction and purification of human steroid sulfatase (STS) and evaluation of a new family of STS inhibitors and I conducted my research project at The Department of Molecular Biology.Studies, that was presented in my thesis were a part of the ongoing collaborative project with the Gdansk University of Technology, and was funded by the Polish National Science Center. This project involved evaluation of a new family of steroid sulfatase inhibitors. In addition, I participated in the implementation of other projects at The Department of Molecular Biology. These projects was related to the optimization of protein expression in bacteria, optimization of protein purification and their production at a large scale (in cooperation with pharmaceutical company Adamed Sp. z o.o., project funded by Polish National Center for Research and Development).Since July 2014, I am working at the Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology and I participate in preparation of the DNA libraries for NGS, DNA and RNA isolation from tissue and blood samples, and MS-PCR analysis.
